Our Covid-19 policy

We at The Pub and Churchill follow the strict guidelines set out by the RIVM, KHN and the government. Please read the following to understand what is required of you, our valued guests, and our team. Health and Safety are paramount in our business.

Before Visiting us we would ask you to please observe the following necessary requirements:

  1. All reservations must be made over telephone. There will be no online bookings.
  2. We must have with each reservation contact details for at least one in your group (this is to manage control of the business, and contact trace if necessary).
  3. Answer honestly the following health questions for you and your guests. Please do not put the health and well-being of our guests and team at risk:
    • have you or any one in your household have or had flu like symptoms?
    • are you or anyone in your household suffering from a cough?
    • have you or anyone in your household been in contact with anyone who has tested positive within the last 14 days?
  4. Make sure you book the best time for you. If you arrive early you will have to wait outside the business. If you are more than 15 minutes late we will be unable to hold the table for you.
  5. Inform us of any special requirements. We can not guarantee we will be able to cater for all but will always try our best. Special requirements include
    • Dietary and allergy requirements
    • Child stool / place for a push chair
    • Wheelchair placement
    • Dogs
    • Specific tables
    • Socially distanced group bookings
  6. We have 30 dining places inside (limited by the governments rules), 18 dining places covered on our terrace and 80 unprotected dining places on our terrace. Please specify where you would like. to sit. If you sit on an unprotected terrace table we can not guarantee you a place inside if it rains. This is due to the government rules.
  7. We have a variety of table layouts that can be used for different visitors. Please specify which type of booking you require. These include
    • Dining tables for 1-8 Guests from the same household
    • Dining tables for 2 guests from different households
    • Dining tables 1.5m apart for groups of 4 persons from different households up to 8 persons from different households
    • Standing tables 1.5m apart for drinks and snacks only for 1/2 persons from different households up to 8 persons from different households (for socially distanced groups you must stay in your seat and you can not switch places with another guest).
  8. Reservation times will be spread out so that a maximum of 2 tables are waiting to be seated at any time.
  9. Due to the restrictions imposed on the number of guests we can receive we will only be operating our Pub a la carte menu. Our All You Can Eat Churchill’s menu will return when appropriate at some future date.

Rules for our guests To maintain a safe environment for both our guests and team we insist that all visitors to The Pub and Churchill follow these new rules. If guests do not follow specific rules they may be refused service and asked to leave.

  1. Arrive at the time of your reservation. If you arrive early and your table is not ready you will have to wait outside the business until it is ready.
  2. Only use the main front entrance. Disinfect hands at the pump station before you enter.
  3. Wait at reception for our host. DO NOT find your own table.
  4. Answer all of our health questions honestly. Please do not put the health and well-being of our guests and team at risk. If on the day of your reservation you are unable to visit please inform us as soon as possible.
  5. Once seated please remain in your seat.
  6. When using the toilet wash your hands. Sanitiser is available.
  7. We know Made is a small community and people will see others they know. Do not visit other tables and please do not shout across tables to speak to other guests.
  8. Do not switch seats with others on different tables and do not move furniture to get around the rules.
  9. Place all dirty plates and glasses at the end of your table so the team can collect them. Our staff will not lean over our guests.
  10. When leaving please use the gates on the terrace. These are exit only.
  11. We reserve the right to use an infra red thermometer to check a guests temperature before entering the business.
  12. For our Take Away Service there is an appropriately signed socially distanced waiting area. Wait in this area and do not walk through the business (except to use the toilet) or visit guests seated at tables.
  13. Please give way to team members when moving around the business and maintain a 1.5m social distance.
  14. We will not be providing a wardrobe service so ask that guests keep all personal belongings at their table.
  15. We will not be providing our kids play corner and insist that children are kept at their table under the responsible control of parents.

Precautions we take

  1. Our Hosts will wear protective masks.
  2. All employees will wash their hands every 30 minutes.
  3. All surfaces on the bar and in the kitchen will be sanitised every hour.
  4. All of or tables, chairs, Pin terminals and Tablet Menus are sanitised between use.
  5. Dedicated team members will clear tables. These employees will wear gloves.
  6. All team members will be asked the same questions as guests before they start their shift.
  7. Food and drinks will be served to one end of the table and guests are asked to distribute the items to the rest of the table. This same area will be the area for collecting plates and utensils.
  8. Our kitchen team will be working in socially distanced zones and will be washing their hands a minimum of every 30 mins and cleaning all surfaces every hour as per the recommendations of KHN.
  9. Toilets and all public contact points will be disinfected very 30 mins.
  10. Our Pool table and darts boards will not be available.
